Google Fit is a fitness tracking platform developed by Google that enables users to monitor their physical activities.
Connect Hevy to Google Fit
We previously connected directly to Google Fit, but Google has removed this option. Now, the only way to integrate with Google Fit is through Health Connect, which acts as a hub, transferring data from Hevy to Google Fit.
What is Health Connect?
Health Connect is a central hub on Android devices that securely links data between health, fitness, and medical apps, giving you control over what information is shared.
Connecting Hevy to Google Fit using Health Connect
- In the Play Store, install Health Connect on your mobile devices
- In the Hevy app: Settings > Integrations > Manage > Health Connect will open up
- Tap App permissions, then select Hevy
- Allow all the permissions you would like to share
- Ensure that Google Fit is also connected to Health Connect:
- If Google Fit is already in Health Connect, you can enable permissions from Health Connect: Fit > Allow all the permissions you would like to share.
- If it doesn’t appear in Health Connect: Open Google Fit > Sync Fit with Health Connect > Set up > Allow all the permissions you would like to share.
Troubleshooting Instructions
- If, for some reason, the workouts from Hevy are not getting sent to Health Connect, the first thing to try is to ensure that on the “Save workout” screen, under “Sync with,” “Health Connect” is toggled on.
- Ensure all permissions are enabled on both Fit and Hevy.
- Try clearing the app’s cache and data on Health Connect.
- Force-stopping and restarting the Hevy App and Health Connect.
If it is still not reading your workouts from Hevy, please let us know, and we’ll help you to the best of our abilities.
