What types of smartwatches is the Hevy app compatible with?
The Hevy Wear OS app works exclusively on smartwatches that use the Wear OS operating system. Not all smartwatches run Wear OS for example, Samsung Galaxy Watches released before the Galaxy Watch 4 use Samsung’s Tizen operating system and are therefore not supported. If your smartwatch runs Wear OS (such as the Galaxy Watch 4 and newer models, along with many devices from other brands), it should be fully compatible with the Hevy app.
How to Install Hevy on your WearOS device:
- Open the Play Store
- Search for Hevy
- Click on the “Available on more devices” section
- Click “Install” on your Wear OS device.
If that doesn’t work, go to the Play Store on your watch and install Hevy from there.
Syncing Issues
We understand that syncing issues can be frustrating, so here are a few steps you can follow to help get the watch to sync with the Hevy app.
Step 1 - Ensure the Versions Match
Download the app on your WearOS watch to ensure you're using the same version on both devices. Sometimes the version of the watch doesn’t get updated properly and can affect the syncing.
Step 2 - Basic Troubleshooting Instructions (you may have already tried this before, but if the versions were not the same, it might not have worked)
1. Make sure your Hevy Watch App is open, and hold your wrist up for a few seconds.
2. Ensure Bluetooth & Wifi are turned on, on both the Wear OS watch and the Android phone.
3. Make sure your Wear OS watch is nearby
4. Quit the Hevy Watch App and reopen
5. Check if your watch is connected to your phone
6. If your watch is not connected to your phone, the easiest way to try to connect again is to turn off your Wear OS Watch and turn it on again. Then reopen Hevy.
7. If you are using any other apps on your Wear OS Watch that are live syncing to your phone or tracking an active workout, make sure to quit them, and then reopen Hevy.
8. Make sure you have updated to the latest version of Hevy on both your Wear OS watch and Android phone.
9. Uninstall the Hevy Watch App. Wait 30 seconds, and re-install. In some extremely rare cases, the only thing that will fix the connection is to install a new feature update of the app. We typically update every 1-2 weeks.
Step 3: Reinstalling and Restarting
** Please follow in the exact order as listed below**
- Log out of Hevy on both devices
- Delete Hevy from both devices
- Reboot both devices
- Reinstall Hevy on both devices
- Resync the watch and phone with the watch nearby
