What is Hevy Trainer?
Hevy Trainer is a new feature for Hevy Pro users that will provide a workout program based on your goals and preferences. Along with automatic program generation, Hevy Trainer has a progressive overload feature that will let you know when to increase your weight and by how much based on your performance. To help you stay on track, you can view your trainer progression using the Progress Report, exclusive to Hevy Trainer
Our programs are generated using an algorithm and do not rely on AI to create users' programs. Similarly, progressive overload suggestions are given based on the user's performance and are backed by scientific research.
How do you start to use Hevy Trainer?
Hevy Trainer is a feature that will only be available to users with a Pro subscription. To begin using the feature, navigate to the Workout tab at the bottom of the app. Once you are on this tab, tap where it says ‘Workout’ at the top of the page and a dropdown menu will appear. From here, select “Trainer” to get to the Trainer page. On this page, there will be information about Trainer as well as an option to get started with Hevy Trainer.
If you tap the ‘Start with Hevy Trainer’ button, you will then be asked some questions to help create your personalized program. The questions you will be asked are as follows:
- What is your top goal?
- How much training experience do you have?
- What is your gender?
- When is your birthday?
- What is your weight?
- What is your height?
- What equipment do you have available?
- How often do you want to work out?
- Do you want to add cardio to your workouts?
- How long would you like your workouts to be?
- Which muscle group do you want to focus on?
You will then be asked to read and accept the health terms and policy, which are as follows:

After you accept this, your program will be generated. You will then be given a program based on your selected goal and preferences.
