We would like to integrate with Garmin, but it is not possible at this time. Not all apps are permitted to send workout data to Garmin, and only a select few apps (Strava, MyFitnessPal) can access their API at the moment. Garmin has rejected Hevy’s application for access to their API.
The solution the Garmin team gave us are the following:
- Create a Hevy app inside Garmin IQ
- Sync Hevy routines from Hevy to Garmin Training, and then users can use Garmin Watch to log workouts with native Garmin training app
- Hevy receiving the data FROM Garmin Connect, for example, the native workouts that you log via your Garmin watch
We don’t believe these options meet Hevy’s standards of user experience. Therefore, we will not be able to move forward with Garmin integration at this time.
We hope to get access to Garmin’s API in the future.
