Calories are a unit of energy that your body uses when it performs physical activities. Calories burned refers to the amount you have used in your current workout. It is important to keep track of the calories you burn when working out for multiple reasons, including weight management, to make sure you’re properly fueling your body, and to gain further insight into the intensity of your workouts.

3. Select ‘Apple Health’
4. Tap 'Manage'
5. In the phone settings, select 'Apps,' then scroll down to 'Health'
6. Tap 'Data Access and Devices' and select 'Hevy
7. Enable ‘Apple Health - Active Calories’
8. Once you have completed a workout, the workout will get sent to Apple Health with a rough estimate of how many calories were burned in the workout (it will only log workouts from Hevy as ‘Strength Training’)
Android
1. Go to the profile tab at the bottom right of the app
2. Tap the gear icon in the top right corner
3. Select Integrations
4. Select 'Manage' beside Health Connect
5. Tap 'App permissions'
6. Select 'Hevy'
7. Enable ‘Total calories burned’
8. Connect your health app of choice (ie. Google Fit, Samsung Health, etc.) to Health Connect as well, so information from Hevy can pass from Health Connect to your health app
9. Once you have completed a workout, the workout will be sent to Health Connect and then from Health Connect to your health app with a rough estimate of how many calories were burned in the workout (it will only log workouts from Hevy as ‘Strength Training’)
Important Note: Calories burned are a rough estimate and not an exact number. The calories burned is based on the algorithm that your Health app uses and this typically takes into account many factors, so the same workout may not affect every user the same in terms of calories.
If you are calculating your calories burned using either a WearOS watch or Apple watch, your calories will be calculated and tracked by the watch and will likely be more accurate as they take into account information received from the watch sensors, such as motion, heart rate, etc.
