Find people to follow, discover new workouts, compare your progress, and share your training inside and outside Hevy.
Find and Follow Other Users
Search for someone
Home > Search icon > Enter their username
Open their profile and tap Follow. You can also find people through Suggested Athletes on the Home tab or by browsing Discover.
Explore their profile
A user’s profile brings together their workout history, routines, weekly activity, photos, and videos.
To follow someone with a private profile, you will need to send a follow request and wait for it to be accepted before you can see their private workout information.
Explore Workouts
Home or Discover: what’s the difference?
| Feed | What you’ll find | How to open it |
| Home | Workouts from people you follow. | Tap the Home tab. |
| Discover | Workouts from people you do not follow. | Open Home, tap Home at the top of the screen, and select Discover. |
On workout posts, you can like the workout, leave a comment, or reply to other comments. You can also include links in your comments.
Important Note: Details about how users and workouts are selected for Suggested Athletes and Discover are not publicly available.
View a workout in detail
Tap a workout from either feed or a user’s profile to see its exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout statistics, and any logged exercise notes or effort ratings (RPE).
Save a workout for later or try it now
Open the workout and tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
| Option | What it does |
| Save as Routine | Creates a reusable workout template that you can save for later. |
| Copy Workout | Starts an active workout using the copied session’s details. You can adjust it as you train. |
Compare Your Progress
Compare with another user
Open their profile > Compare > Choose a time period
Choose 30 days, 3 months, 1 year, or all time to compare workout count, time spent training, total volume, and muscle-group distribution.
Under Exercises in Common, select an exercise to compare your performance. Exercise comparisons are available for supported exercises only.
Check exercise leaderboards
Profile > Statistics > Leaderboard Exercises
Select an exercise to see how your best lift ranks against people you follow. Tap someone’s result to view the workout where they achieved it.
Share Workouts and Routines
Share a completed workout
Profile > Open the workout > Share
Important Note: Sharing your workout is a great way to show someone what you completed. You can also share it with ChatGPT or Claude to get feedback or insights about your workout.
Share a routine
Workout > Three dots beside the routine > Share Routine
Choose how to send it. People do not need a Hevy account to view shared content.
You can also share a routine folder containing multiple routines through the folder’s sharing option.
What information is included in a shared routine?
Exercises are shared, but your standard weight and rep values are not. The recipient’s weight and rep values are based on their own previous exercise history, not yours.
To include a planned rep target, set a Rep Range before sharing:
Create or edit the routine > Tap Reps > Select Rep Range > Enter your range
Add Photos and Share Outside Hevy
Add photos or a video to a workout
- Complete your workout and tap Finish.
- Tap Add a photo / video and select your media.
- Drag the items to rearrange them, then tap Save.
You can attach up to three photos, or two photos and one video, to a workout.
Create a social media post
After saving a workout, swipe through the available sharing designs. These can highlight your workout details, personal records, or training volume.
Choose a dark, light, or transparent background, then share the design or save it as an image.
To share an older workout:
Profile > Three dots beside the workout > Share Workout
Send workouts to Strava
Profile > Settings > Integrations > Strava > Connect > Authorize
Once connected, completed Hevy workouts can sync automatically to Strava. Before saving a workout, check Sync with to confirm that Strava is enabled.
This integration works from Hevy to Strava only. Workouts recorded in Strava are not imported into Hevy.
Manage Your Privacy and Social Settings
Make your profile private
Profile > Settings > Privacy & Social > Private Profile > Turn on
Other users will need your approval to follow you and view your workouts.
Keep an individual workout private
On the screen shown after tapping Finish, select:
Visibility > Private
This keeps that workout visible only to you, even if you have followers.
Hide suggested users
Profile > Settings > Privacy & Social > Hide Suggested Users > Turn on
This hides the suggested-user recommendations. It does not remove the Discover feed.
