Track Exercises and Performance
When you log an exercise in Hevy, your performance is stored. The next time you log the same exercise, whether part of a routine or an empty workout, your previous performance values appear on the left side under the column labelled PREVIOUS.
This means you can see your previous performance at a glance throughout your current session, which can help you make better training decisions and push yourself hard enough to match or exceed the previous weight and reps you’ve lifted.
Previous Workout Values Settings
To check or change the settings for your Previous Workout Values, follow the instructions below.
Profile tab > Settings gear icon on the top right > Workout > Previous Workout Values
You have two options for how your previous workout values are tracked. You can either have the PREVIOUS section display the values for the last time you completed that exercise in any workout, or you can have the PREVIOUS section display the values from the last time you completed that exercise within the same routine.
It can be beneficial to have the Previous Workout Values only change within routines if you have routines that focus on different things. An example of this is if you have two routines, one focused on hypertrophy training and another focused on strength training. It would be more helpful if you saw the previous values from only the same routine, because the weight and reps you do for each exercise in these two different routines could look very different.
Important Note: The Previous Workout Values setting is only for the values displayed under PREVIOUS in a workout. It is not referring to the standard values for reps and weights.
